This past weekend I was able to see the K-pop group T.A.N twice. They appeared at the Atlanta Korean Festival on Saturday, September 30 and had a full concert on Sunday, October 1 in Lawrenceville.
T.A.N. (To All Nations), is a K-pop group that debuted on March 10, 2022. They were formed from the survival show Extreme Debut: Wild Idol. The members are Changsun (the leader) Jooan, Jaejun, Sunghyuk, Hyunyeop (who wasn’t with them this trip), Taehoon, and Jisung. Their new album TAN MADE can be heard here.
The weekend started out rocky with several flight delays which meant I didn’t get to Atlanta until 12:30 am. By the time I had my bags and rental car, I didn’t arrive at the hotel until about 2:30 AM.
My friend Carol, who I met in April at the T.A.N. concert while standing in line to check in, was waiting for me at the hotel when I finally arrived. We kept in touch after the April show and decided to attend this show together!
Saturday morning, after about 4 hours sleep, we got ready to attend the festival. There was free parking which was great! The festival tickets were about $8, so it was a really reasonable price to see a K-pop group perform! T.A.N. was on the schedule to perform at 4PM and 8:30 PM.
I won’t complain too much, because the purpose of this post is supposed to be me gushing over my experience seeing them again after 5 months. That being said, there was a lot of standing in line waiting for things to happen!
I had pre-purchased a Level-up Fan package, so I was going to get to have Hi-Touch, a Fan sign, and a group photo with the members. This was such an exciting opportunity that all the frustration from the waiting and miscommunication faded away.
I also have to say that SODA (the name T.A.N.’s fan group), are amazing, friendly, kind people! Even while we fussed over the waiting, standing, and the heat, we were making friends and talking about our favorites!
During the fan sign (they signed an album), I got to speak to each member. They were excited to know I would be attending the concert the next day. I shook hands with Changsun, Taehoon made me pinky promise, and Jisung and I had a fist bump. They are all the sweetest and they are so happy to get a chance to interact with each of us!
This is the photo from Saturday’s group photo!
The performances on Saturday were each about 4 songs, but their energy and excitement to see the audience made each performance unforgettable!
Another highlight was my first Korean corndog! I got a potato half and half corndog. It had half cheese and half hot dog, covered in batter rolled in diced potatoes. Each corndog also had sugar sprinkles on it. I had ketchup and mustard on mine as well. Carol got a regular one (no potato).
This is a clip of the end of their song Louder which has an amazing dance break.
I will share more about the Saturday show in my next post! Look forward to it!
Awesome! B had a Korean corndog a couple months ago and it changed his life!
